Panel 1:
Sonia and Tasha's interview continues. Sonia looks nervous and Tasha holds out her microphone with narrowed eyes.
Sonia: I mean... the only version of the story I'M aware of is that one. I... I see your point, but it's not like I was alive back then, so...
Tasha: Your family hasn't given some private explanation of events?

Panel 2:
A close-up of Sonia, who looks annoyed and waves her hand dismissively as she clutches her amulet.
Sonia: No...? So forgive me if I don't buy that my late father lied to me for my entire life. In fact! The importance of being truthful is actually the first thing you learn as a Trueman. We take it quite seriously!

Panel 3:
A view of Sonia from the stream, with the red wavy background VFX. Sonia gestures with her hands, looking uncertain. A shadowy avatar of Tasha pops up next to her on the stream, looking smug.
Sonia: What I do know is that TrueCorp has been subjected to several federal investigations over the years with the FTC, IRS, FCC, FBI, CIA, FDA, NIH...
Tasha: Not a great sign, no?
Sonia: ...Okay, fair. But if there was evidence of foul play, don't you think it would have been found by now? Conspiracy theories may get clicks, but that doesn't make them true.

Panel 4:
A clipping of the Veridian Chronicle newspaper is displayed as a small avatar of Sonia looks confused. The newspaper headline reads "Federal Judge dismisses Trueman Family Criminal Conspiracy Charges In Ongoing 'Truthgate Scandal'". The subheader reads "New FBI Director dismisses allegations of foul play concerning special agent disappearances." A second headline reads "New Dollar Bill Design Unveiled." The remaining text is illegible.
Tasha (offscreen): That might be more compelling if several of those investigations hadn't ended because the agents in carge went missing.
Sonia: Uh... what? When?
Tasha (offscreen): Yeah, "Truthgate" in the 70's. Look it up!

Panel 5:
Tasha and Frank stand before Sonia, who is sweating nervously. Frank wordlessly pulls out a manilla folder while Tasha counts off on her fingers.
Tasha: There's also decades of evidence of bribery, deep state manipulation, covert surveillance, intellectual theft, Project TC Ultra... but fair enough! We can stick to things that have happened within your lifetime.

Panel 6:
Frank holds out a thick folder stuffed with documents, which has several paperclips, sticky notes, and tabs poking out of the sides. The text on the cover reads "TrueCorp Evidence Master File, copy 3F".
Tasha (offscreen): Sonia, what do you know about the top secret human experiments going on right now?

Alt Text:
"Hey, how did you get my diary?!"

January 20, 2026

Just some light reading material.

I mentioned during the last news post that I would be working on switching up some of my comic creation methods to try and build up a buffer again, and I'm pleased to report that it's working even better than I expected! Thanks to working in batches and some new time-saving hacks, the next THREE pages are close to done, so you can expect the next several weeks of updates to come out like clockwork. If you'd like to start getting the newest updates a week EARLY (along with commentary and other behind the scenes goodies), consider becoming a Patron! The more support my comics have, the easier it is to devote more time to working on them.

As a reminder, we're participating in the SpiderForest Comic of the Week cross-promotion! In an age where indie creators get increasingly buried by social media algorithms, webrings like SpiderForest are even more important for discovery. Check out this (and previous) week's offerings of cool webcomics to read!
