...I'm sensing some hesitation over the idea of making major life decisions at random. I understand. It's normal to want to feel like we're in control of our fates, even when we very much are not.

Fate is like that, though. No matter how much you may try to plan for it, life has a way of surprising you, so you may as well relax and enjoy the ride. The good thing is that there is no such thing as bad choices, only different choices.
