About Input Quest
A choose your own adventure chosen by fate. Multiple paths, multiple stories. Let's find out where we end up.
Input Quest is an improvised, interactive fiction webcomic about growth and change. It is designed with one core concept in mind: start from nothing, grow in complexity, and see what happens. The core "gimmick" of the story is that readers provide input for what the main character should do... but rather than me picking and choosing which reader input to use, the suggestions are randomized using a random number generator and I must use whatever results from it. In this way the characters and story will develop organically, and not even I know what is going to happen. The original reader commands can be seen any time the black "INPUT" bar appears on screen.
Unlike more traditional webcomics, Input Quest is comprised of animated gifs, text-based narration, and occasional playable in-browser video games. To advance the story, click on the large link below each page, or use the left/right arrow keys on your keyboard. If you are reading this live, at certain intervals you will be asked for INPUT at the end of the most recent update, which could be a name or a word or an action. To give your INPUT, use the submission box and submit your idea. I will then use a random number generator to determine which INPUT will be used in the story.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I make fanart/fanfic/cosplay of your characters?
A: I wish you would, please show me if you do!
Q: Is it okay if I charge money to make art of your characters?
A: One-off commissions or the occasional print are fine, the main thing I ask is that you don't start mass-producing a bunch of your own Input Quest merch. Also just be sure to credit me and the comic!
Q: How do you make Input Quest?
A: The main panels throughout the story are created in Adobe Photoshop, including the animated gifs. The in-browser minigames are created in Unity.
