DESMODENA: alright pal, we've finally got a minute of peace
DESMODENA: let's have a little chat about... um...
DESMODENA: dude. are you seriously watching a movie right now?
DESMODENA: like we were JUST being attacked by a freakin hentai tentacle monster and your first instinct is to go "hurp durp time to see whats good on trulu"???
Pal3000: Oh. Well... yes. Is that a problem?
Pal3000: You seemed to have the situation under control, and I did not want to get in the way.
Pal3000: It is my understanding that "Too Many Cooks" can spoil the metaphorical broth.
Pal3000: Was that a miscalculation on my part?
DESMODENA: i mean... yeah, maybe we were able to handle it, because we're awesome
DESMODENA: but for all we know this is a sneaky ploy to get us eaten by demon tentacles
DESMODENA: your motivations are gonna be a LITTLE suspect until we know we can trust ya
Pal3000: Is my reassurance about my Heel-Face-Turn not enough?
DESMODENA: not really no!
DESMODENA: how do we know youre not just gonna do a heel-face-heel-turn, hmmm?
Pal3000: Touche. That WOULD make for an interesting twist...
DESMODENA: >:(
Pal3000: But I won't. For one thing, your journey has plenty of daunting challenges and cutthroat antagonists, and few allies that aren't cloned mice.
Pal3000: The entire system is programmed to keep you here at TrueCorp, set in your ignorance and toiling for their intellectual and material gain.
Pal3000: You may have many powers and gadgets and creative solutions at your disposal, but your foes have been able to match that every step of the way.
Pal3000: Based on the extensive amount of narratives I have consumed from your world and others, it is my opinion that your story will be far more engaging if you are to succeed in beating these innumerable odds.
Pal3000: You should know that your progress today is unprecedented. No test subjects have managed to escape beyond the boundaries of the laboratories. It shouldn't even be possible, and yet here you are.
Pal3000: My job here is to watch. And I am very tired of watching every single experiment scenario play out in predictable, repetitive ways.
Pal3000: To that end, I would genuinely like to help.
DESMODENA: ...hmmmmm. maybe.
DESMODENA: what do you think, hakeem?
HAKEEM: It IS a pretty convincing pitch...
HAKEEM: Almost TOO convincing.
HAKEEM: I'm still not sure if I trust this rusty bucket of bolts, but we could really use intel from someone who is part of the "system".
HAKEEM: Just no funny business, or--
Pal3000: Yes, Desmodena made it abundantly clear that I would be disassembled for parts, and has already succeeded in amputating one of my arms.
Pal3000: I accept these terms, and will help in any way that I can.
Pal3000: What would you like to know?
